Sheridan VA Medical Center
Building 86 HVAC Remodel

Working in conjunction with the Sheridan VA Medical Center engineering staff, FourFront Design, Inc. was charged with designing new air handlers to be installed on the ground in the courtyard.

After site investigation, our team found the ceiling space was too limited to allow the new air handler’s VAV’s in the ceiling. We decided, instead, to replace the existing fan coil units with new fan coil units. We also replaced the exhaust fans and Make Up Air Units with energy efficient Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV).

Our professionals were also tasked with modifying the existing chiller but instead were able to design a new chiller line from the Main Energy Plant to the building in part of a multi-project system expansion. The electrical system was analyzed to the existing transformers. Life cycle cost analysis was performed on alternate mechanical systems.
This project required a multi-phase construction schedule to allow the patient-living functions occurring in the building to be uninterrupted.
